New York State Energy-Saving Lighting Technologies Course - [1.3.12]
The 1st classes will be held February 8th, 9th, 15th and 16th 8:00am to 3:30pm in Watertown, and February 21st, 22nd 29th and March 1st 8:00 am to 3:30 pm in Plattsburgh. The EJATC will need a minimum of 6 Journeyworkers and 12 maximum Journeyworkers in order to hold the class. If there is enough interest the EJATC will schedule night classes as well. There is No Cost for IBEW Local 910 members; there will be a $2500.00 fee for non-members.
The course was developed by several, Electrical JATC’s in New York State with the support of the State’s IBEW locals and NECA chapters and help from a grant provided by NYSERDA.
The NYSESLT course is exclusive to certified NEW York State Journeyworker Electricians and will provide training and certification in the installation and commissioning of lighting control systems. It will consist of 32-40 hours of instruction and will be divided into 3 parts, online, class room and Lab. There will be 4 online training modules (approximately 2 hours) done at home before you attend classes, 8 classroom modules and hands-on lab. Each module consists of a lecture and PowerPoint presentation, a lab, and an exam. The heart of the program is the lab training, which will be conducted on training boards populated with state-of-the-art lighting control equipment.
Please note that this training is being provided in anticipation of a new energy efficiency grant program that New York will be rolling out in the very near future. It will be a State requirement that you have been “Certified” through this course in order to perform the work in connection with the grant program.

OSHA 10-Hour Training
Please use the ENROLLMENT link provided below to get on the list for the upcoming OSHA-10 classes. The classes are subject to minimum and maximum enrollment requirements and will be scheduled when there are enough people enrolled.

Fiber Optic Training

Photovoltaic Installer Training
The EJATC will be offering a Photovoltaic Installer Training starting this spring. Please use the ENROLLMENT link provided below to get on the list for the upcoming classes. This will give us an idea on how many classes we will have to schedule.
There will be an $85 fee for the cost of books.

Green Building and Sustainable Construction for the New York State Building and Construction Trades
The EJATC of Watertown will be conducting Green Building and Sustainable Construction for the New York State Building and Construction Trades module 1 & 2 classes at the following locations. Both modules will be covered on the same day. The class will take approximately 8hrs to cover the material.
This training is not required at this time for NYS or Federal Public Works jobs; indications are it will be in the future (similar to the OSHA-10). IBEW 910 and NNY chapter of NECA wants to be ahead of the competition when the time comes and it is required. It may be in your best interest to sign up and take the classes as soon as you can. Classes will need a Minimum of 6 people to a Maximum of 20 people
EPS-2 Training
Scheduled to take place this winter (possibly spring). Keep checking back for the scheduled date of this training. Cost of books is $45.
