When can I apply for apprenticeship?
This Electrical Joint Apprenticeship and Training Committee (EJATC) will accept applications for apprenticeship from 9:00 A.M. until 4:00 P.M. on the first working Monday of each month (if a Holiday happens to fall on the first Monday of the month, applications will be accepted on the 2nd Monday). Can I take the NJATC/AIR Aptitude test more than one time?
The only time you would retake the NJATC/AIR Aptitude test is if you do not at first qualify for the oral interview by achieving a score of four(4) or above on a stanine scale. You will not be eligible to retest for a period of six (6) months from the previous test date. Qualifying test scores are good for a period of two (2) years. How much time does it take to fill out the application?
Applications must be filled out in person, and the time it takes generally varies between twenty (20) and thirty (30) minutes, therefore you will want to allow yourself at least thirty (30) minutes before 4:00 pm order to give yourself sufficient time to complete all of the forms. Is experience necessary to apply for apprenticeship?
No experience in the electrical field is required to apply for apprenticeship. The Northern New York EJATC provides training with a combination of classroom and on-the-job training. [back to frequently asked questions]

What is an Apprenticeship?
Apprenticeship combines on-the-job and classroom training. The contractor (Click here) with which they are employed pays the apprentice for on-the-job training, and they go to class two (2) nights a week. [back to frequently asked questions]
What sort of income should I expect from the apprenticeship?
